‘O’ & ‘A’ Level Exams Conducting Decision in Karachi Take Back

Quetta, The Heads of private educational institutes of Quetta has said that the decision of the British council for taking exams of ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels students in Karachi is equal to deprive the thousands of students of Quetta for getting high level education. This decision is also equal to close the door of high standard of education on the students living in this city.

According to the details, the British Council decided not to take the exams of ‘O’ and ‘A’ level exams in Quetta due to its bad law and order situation in the city. The council is of the opinion that they cannot depute their exams staff for taking exams in Quetta as the prevailing security situation of the city is not satisfactory. The heads of the schools and the students along with their parents said that they do not accept this decision.

During a press briefing to the media persons in the office of the Public Relations in Quetta, the head of the private institution, Irum Ghazi, Sonia Babar, Umaira, Kahkashan Baqri, Rana Rashid and various others said that the registration of more than three hundred students have been done and now the exams are going to be started. The British council has sent a letter excusing the bad situation of the city that they cannot depute their representatives and gave them three options that the students of ‘O’ and ‘A’ level can appear in the exams in Karachi, Lahore or Rawalpindi/Islamabad and these candidates will be considered private and such words are written on their degrees. If any candidate does not want to appear in the exams, the concession of Rs.2700 will be granted in their fees.

The heads of the schools also said that this is the only one way in which their children can get high standard of education and now efforts are being carried out to deprive of their children from getting high standard of education. They said that the law and order situation in Karachi is many times bad if compared to Quetta. In such conditions, the council also do not get the responsibility of the lives of the students in Karachi so how they can sent their children in Karachi.

The heads of the educational institutes and the students appealed to the British High Commissioners that they take back the decision and depute their representatives and exams staff to Quetta and save the precious year of the students.
