NTS Under Fire Over Hiring Process No Regulation

Islamabad: the parliamentary panel on communication asked the question about the legal status of National Testing Services and the Baluchistan Testing Service. They asked the question, how it is allowed to accept the huge amount a fee from the unemployed youth of Pakistan.

The Standing Committee of Senate asked that in what legal capacity, Establishment Division asked the NTS to carry out hiring process of the federal government offices and NTS can get the fee from the people, who are already unemployed and they are looking for admission in the leading universities and higher learning institutes. The head of the Standing Committee of Senate, Senator, Muhammad Daud Khan Achakzai asked this question from NTS.

He further added that the government organizations get advertised the jobs and they leave rest of working of hiring process to NTS. When the applicants asked the question about their status, then they are told that they could not qualify for the post, for which they were appeared.

Senator Kamil Ali Agha also said that NTS charges the fee of about Rs.1000 from each applicant and it does not call the individuals for an interview. He also provided the information regarding NTS that it has received total 22,000 applications against about four posts. When they receive the applications, they also charge the fee of Rs.1000 from each applicant but it did not make the arrangements for any written test or interview

Another senator, Kulsoom Perveen also said that NTS is a fraudulent body and no one know how it was formulated and it does not have any regulations.

CPEC

Senator Daud Achakzai also directed to put a ban on the existing projects to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He further added that the government should not mislead the people by making old projects, part of this current CPEC.

The senator pointed that the work on the western route of CPEC has not given the priority despite the clear directives of the PM of Pakistan. He said that no work has been started on the western route. He further said that some of the chief secretaries of the provinces do not attend the committee meeting as they want to hide the facts in delaying tactics of the working on the western route of the CPEC.
