HEC Bans 450 Programs in Universities

Higher Education Commission was established with the aim to promote higher standard of education in the country and all of the government and private universities of this country will be affiliated with it and their degrees will be recognized by the HEC so that it can be acceptable in the government and private sector. The universities have initiated various degree courses at the master, MPhil and PhD levels after getting approval from the HEC. Now HEC has put ban on these programs due to their substandard education system and it is stated that 450 programs in about 180 universities have been stopped.

It is mentioned that there are different programs of master, MPhil and PhD and they are added in the blacklist. The official website of HEC shows the alert on homepage, which is related to banned programs and the concerned education institutes. The students should check the blacklist of the HEC and they should find the banned subject of the educational institutes and the notification has been issued in the newspapers and students avoid taking admission in these programs.

There are the two institutes like Chakwal University and Imperial College of Business Studies, which have been banned and the certifications from the educational institutes will not be recognized by HEC. The educational institutes like Al-Khair University, AJK & Global Institute Lahore are also added in the official website of HEC and they are not allowed to grant admission to the candidates in all of their campuses, branches and the affiliated colleges or universities. There are various irregularities and complaints, which are received constantly against their management and they have adopted the undesired educational activities. HEC has made it clear that they will not attest the degree or certifications issued from these institutes.
