The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is awarding scholarships to Pakistani students with the collaboration of Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).
No of Scholarships: Every year, Aga Khan Foundation provides limited number of scholarships to outstanding postgraduate students from developing countries which can’t finance their studies by any other means.
Scholarships Benefits: After a competitive application process every year, the successful candidates will be granted scholarships on 50% grant and 50% lone basis. Only tuition fee and living expenses are assisted by the foundation while cost of travel is not included in the scholarships.
The 50% loan will be paid back will annual 5% service charges which a guarantor will also sign the loan agreement. The payback period is six months after end of study period funded by AKF and the period id of five years.
Scholarship Subjects: Any field of study can be taken by the applicant.
Duration of Scholarship: according to the courses, scholarships will be awarded for the period of three to four years.
Eligibility Condition and countries: nationals of following countries can apply for scholarships; Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Kyrgyzistan, Kenya, Egypt, Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique and Madagascar. In UK, USA, Canada, France and Portugal, only those candidates can apply who belong to the above mentioned countries, interested in the studies related to development and have no other way to finance their education. Students under 30 years of age will be given preference.
Applications from residents of only those countries will be accepted where the offices of Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) or Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) are present for interviews and application process.
Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit while students should have excellent academic record and must get admission in a highly reputable program or university. In their field of interest, applicants should have some years of work experience.
How to Apply: students can attain scholarship application forms from official site of AKF or directly from the offices of AKF, AKEs or AKEB.

31st March 2016 is the last date to apply for the candidates.
