Approval of 14 Vocational Training Institutes

Lahore, The Punjab Zakat Council has approved the proposal of the Punjab Vocational Training Council for organizing 14 new vocational training institutes in the province. The beginning of classes in new vocational institutions will become effective from July 10.

Punjab Zakat Council, under the chairmanship of Zakat and Usher Secretary Capt Jehanzeb Khan has arranged the 140th meeting in which this decision has been made. The meeting was attended by the dignitaries including MPAs Sakina Shaheen Khan, Tayyaba Zameer, Zakat Administrator Muhammad Yousaf Butt, Deputy Administrators (field) Rana Muhammad Sajjad Babar, Hafiz Fazal Raheem Ashrafi, Hafiz Zubair Ahmed Zaheer, Maulana Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Khawaja Abdul Qayyum, Representatives of Finance, Local Government and Social Welfare departments were also present in the meeting.

It has also been decided in the meeting that vocational institutes will be organized two at Haifabad, four at Faisalabad, two at Chakwal, and one each at Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Muzaffargarh, Rawalpindi, Jhelum and Sialkot in which vocational training would be provided to Zakat-deserving persons of the area free-of-cost.

Rs.2.3 million has also been approved by the Punjab Zakat Council as educational stipend which will be distributed among 489 trainee students of 17 educational institutions of Lahore, Khanewal, Toba Tek Singh and Rahim Yar Khan.
