A US Federal Court has charged Executive Director of Axact company Umair Hamid. The federal court of Manhattan in USA has charged Umair Hamid. He was initially arrested on Monday and presented to court for allegations of ‘Wire Fraud’ and looting thousands of dollars from Americans with his ‘diploma mill’ on international level.
Manhattan’s attorney said that Umair and his friends fooled people to give fake degrees on phone and taken advance money for this purpose but they were given simple papers later that had no importance. American attorney said that Axact’s offices were closed in Pakistan in 2015 but Umair Hamid continued this fraud in USA.
FBI AD said Umair Hamid and his companions fooled people for higher education and they even used the name of ‘Shah’ for their purpose. It was told that Umair was at the post of Asst. Director IR of Axact that made around 350 fake educational institutes and these institutes were marketed online. For this purpose, they took help from software experts. They also had bank accounts with fake names in which money was received from fake degrees.
According to press release, Umair and his companions can get 20 years of imprisonment. Pakistani government requested help from US last year on this matter. According to FIA, they got 2200,000 fake degrees from Axact offices in Pakistan.
