Focusing to interlink university syllabus with industry by LCWU

Lahore, Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) Dr. Sabiha Mansoor on Wednesday expressed that efforts are being made to interlink university syllabus with the industry to get economic strength and free enterprise for the students.

She was addressing at the opening ceremony of annual project offering by the department of home economics LCWU. The ceremony was held at Foreign Faculty Hostel where the projects of 130 students from intermediate and BS were presented. Students benefited the Faculty Hostel Building as model home and displayed their skills in items like Batik, wall papers, stencil printing suits, bed covers, cushions, rugs and paintings Project of group of Home Economics including leather work, card making and tie and dye were also shown.

The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sabiha Mansoor awarded the prizes to the students on their work and appreciated them. The ceremony was attended by Registrar Riffat Saqlain, Controller of Examinations Dr. Tahira Mughal, Dean of Arts Noshaba Farooq, Members of Faculty and students.

Incharge of Home Economics department Mrs. Ishrat Azhar said that this project will boost confidence in students. She said that they are aiming to coordinate with industry for entrepreneurship Lahore Chamber and Commerce and Industry. The department of Home Economics is beneficial not only to run a home economically and efficiently but also is the big source of income for the family if the handmade items and other accessories are getting ready commercially.
