GCU Introduces Diploma for Forensic Sciences

Lahore, Government College University Lahore with the collaboration of Punjab forensic Science Agency is conducting a special diploma in forensic sciences for policemen and officials of other law enforcement agencies. The main objective of this diploma is to train the policemen for crime scene investigation, evidence preservation, crime mapping, fingerprints and DNA markers and technologies and analytical technique.

The ceremony for making declaration of passing of agreement between PFSA and GCU for academic and research association has been held on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed by GCU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman and PFSA Director General Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Tahir in the presence of Government College University Director Research Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zakria Butt, Director Academic Planning Fauzia Shaheen, Chemistry Department Chairperson Prof. Dr. Islam Ullah Khan, MS Forensic Chemistry Coordinator Dr. M. Farrukh and PFSA Director Forensics Dr. M. Sarwar.

The Punjab Forensic Science Agency is going to expand practical training and particular resources for the six month diploma which will benefit the policemen to manage modern methods and technologies.

The PFSA also offered to give training to the faculty members of Government College University for teaching and curriculum designing of the diploma for policemen.
