GCU Lahore Receive Rhodes Scholarship 2013

Lahore, A baloch student who studies in Government College University Lahore received the Rhodes scholarship for the year 2013 for studying at Oxford University. The student, Rafi Ullah belong to the remote area of Balochistan has received this scholarship who studies in the Political science department of the university.

Rhodes scholarships are granted since 1903 for the students who have brilliant track academic record and have the ability to show outstanding performance and would be able to fight the world’s fight and show the performance of public duties as their highest objective and enhance the international understanding and harmony.

The vice chancellor of GC University Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq ur Rehman arranged a ceremony in his honour in which Rafi Ullah said that he completed his early education from his native town, then he moved to Lahore for study in Government College University for further education. The education being departed in this University has opened his mind and he studies in Political Science department.

The Rhodes Scholarships which started from 1903 are given to the students for studying in Oxford University. About 83 scholars are selected from Australia, South Africa, Bermuda, Zambia, Germany, New Zealand, Pakistan, India, Zimbabwe, Hong Kong, Canada, Kenya, Jamaica, Malawi, Lesotho, Botswana, United States and Swaziland.
