HEC Deadline for Universities to Meet Criteria Ends on June 30th

Islamabad, the higher education commission has given the deadline to implement the order to raise the minimum qualification for appointment of the lectures to 18 years of education and this deadline is ended at the end of this month.
The Higher Education Commission circulated the notice once again to all of the universities to ensure implementation of new qualification criteria to hire the lectures and the assistant professors. According to the new criteria set by the HEC, the minimum qualification for the hiring of lecture will be MPhil, MS or equivalent degree or 18 years of education or master degree from the foreign institute.
The higher education commission has issued the letters to vice chancellors and deans and asked them to implement the minimum qualification for employment of lecture and it should be MPhil or MS or equivalent degree from the foreign university. The commission has decided to raise the qualification of the lecturers and assistant professors and the last date was fixed as 01 January 2015 for employment of lecturers under provision of criteria and the new date was fixed at 01 January 2016 for the employment of the lecturers and assistant professors.
