Internship Program for 3000 students by Government

The Ministry of Information Technology has issued the directives to Pakistan Software Export Board for the start of the Internship program of Prime Minister and they were asked to expedite the plans. It was asked to PSEB to get publish the advertisements about the internship in the main daily newspapers at the earliest. It is said that under this internship program, total 3000 fresh graduates will be offered the internship opportunity by PSEB in the big banks, telecom and IT firms.

MoIT has issued the press statement in which the Minister of State for Information Technology & Telecom issued the directives to MD PSEB to get advertisement the internship program in the leading daily newspapers for placement of 3000 young IT graduates for the internship of six months , which is offered under Internship program of Prime Minister 2016-17.

The meeting of board of directors of PSEB was chaired by the Minister and other participants are Federal Secretary IT Mr. Rizwan Bashir Khan, Member HR Mr. Tahir Mushtaq, MD of PSEB, Mr. Asim Shahryar Hussain and reps from P@SHA and TDAP of the meeting. During the meeting of the board of directors, it was decided to place the interns at the IT departments of Telecom Sectors companies, IT companies, Banks and other organizations and the IT graduates can develop the skills to increase employability potential in them.

The Minister directed the MD PSEB for the development of new interactive web portal for the internship program by the provision of necessary details of the IT companies, which are registered with PSEB and ensure the updates on the regular basis. The board has reviewed the progress on the project of IT Park, which will be started with provision of the financial assistance of the Korean Exim Bank.

The minister gives the directions to PSEB that they conclude the signing of the loan agreement with Korean authorities for the establishment of IT park, which will cover the area of 45 acres land at Islamabad and it will be completed at the earliest. MD PSEB informed the board about the CMMI certification of potential companies, which is going to be started and in the first phase, there will be twenty one short listed companies, which will complete their training.

Minister of State summoned the initiative and said that CMMI certification of the potential IT companies will help them to build their capacity to enhance their credibility to show it to their foreign clients. This will be cost effective for CMMI certification and they do not use foreign auditors, which are very expensive.
