The colleges of Norway offer many programs that last from 1 year to 4 years period. Most of their programs are profession-specific that is the reason their graduates become professional or para professional in their respected fields of study that includes engineering, teaching, health services, social work, librarianship, administration, journalism, economics etc. The state colleges of Norway play an important role after their involvement in the extensive research and development work for the education system.
That is the reason most of the graduate programs that are offered by the state colleges can easily be transferred to the undergraduate degree programs at universities. All the international students are admitted to the universities and also in many other institutions of the higher education through their international programs and also by bilateral agreements. Usually there are no tuition fees in the universities of Norway except some special programs, specialized and private schools. In mot of the public institutions of Norway the education is totally free for all type of students.
