The western part of the China is much higher than the Eastern part and in the Northwest part of China there is Tarim Basin. This area is actually separated by the mountains which are known as Tian Shan, Pamir, Kunlun Shan and Karakorum and the desert Gobi in its east. The Tarim Basin which is located in this region is actually desert scenery with the desert named Takla Makan which is the biggest dry and dangerous sand desert. That is the reason little peoples live there because some of the oases of this region makes it possible to live there. The region’s water comes from the mountains where in summer snow melts and also from the rivers that include Tarim He.

Almost all the peoples who live here are Uygurs and in the more east of this area there is Inner Mongolia which is also the autonomous region of the China. The China biggest desert named desert Gobi is also in this area which is the second biggest desert in the world which is not only in the country of China but is also in Mongolia. In both of the deserts that is Takla Makan and Gobi the summer season is very hot and the winters in these two deserts are very cold and dry as well. Actually the peripheral area of both the deserts is the steppes. On the border between Pakistan and China there is K2 which is 8611 m high and is also the second highest mountain in the world.
