You have to study full time to get the eligibility for a student permit but you are also allowed to study part time on your student permit
- When you are coming to study for a minimum duration of three years in New Zealand and when your selected course requires you to get any practical type of work experience which is included as part of your study.
- When you are coming to New Zealand for the study duration of maximum of nine months and when your selected course meets the foreign student policy of the New Zealand and showed that you have already paid the tuition fees and course fees and should meet the requirements of the visitor.
- When you are in your final semester of your selected course that results in New Zealand Qualification that should qualify for the points under the category of the skilled migrants.
