PEELI Trains Educators in English Language for One year

Punjab Education and English Language Initiative has trained about 400 master coaches along with 1240 newly inducted English language subject specialists in the Secondary English Language Education in one year after start of this program.

PEELI trained 400 master teachers in which 190 are trained directly on the understanding and condition to train about 17000 primary school teachers. In the same way, about 579 education directors are trained with the aim to manage the training of the English medium. PEELI has recruited or trained about 3257 education bodies so that they can prepare about 86,280 trainers, which will further train about 3.128 million people.

PEELI has been advised to work with Punjab Schools Education Department and with the board of director of Staff Development company, so that they can transit the English Medium Instruction, which establishes the well equipped resources centers in Lahore and Multan so that they further enhance training program to other teachers in the region. This program is prepared for the training of about 300,000 teachers by the year 2018.

British Council has released the report of PEELI after the completion of one year of the program. The Education Minister of Punjab, Rana Mashhood defined the report and the aim of the Punjab Government that the government will provide education and also started various other activities to extend the quality of education to the students and hoped to improve the standard of education, which help in contributing education to all regions of the province.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor of Punjab, Ch Muhammad Sarwar said that Pakistan has the given the right to every student of government schools of Punjab to get standard education in the safe and healthy environment. He also mentioned the report and concerns of UNICEF that more than 1.4 million Pakistani children are out of school, who have some kind of disabilities.

For the convenience of these disabled children at the postgraduate level, Higher Education Commission asked the universities to keep one percent quote for the disabled students in different disciplines. The Governor of Punjab beleaguered the dire need to enhance the efforts in the comprehensive and special education to the students throughout the country.
