Professors Perform Admin Duties in Various Colleges

Lahore, Several professors of different government colleges and Universities are performing admin duties on various posts. These professors got their education and did their PhD by the scholarship of million rupees being spent by the government and now they also draw their pays and incentives worth many lacs but they take interest in performing admin duties rather than teaching the students and benefitted them from their experience and specialties.

As it came to know that these professors were also found indulging in the politics and took unnecessary benefits of their posts. There is serious shortage of professors for giving lectures to the students so to complete the deficiency, retired professors have been appointed on contract agreements. These retired professors got illegal benefits of their posts while drawing their pensions and then receive huge amount of rupees on the sake of pay.

Dr. Liaqat is principal of Halley Colley of Commerce, Dean Faculty of Commerce, Controller of Examination in Punjab University, Chairman Disciplinary Committee and Head of Law College Punjab University. He also performs the duty of Vice Chancellor of Punjab University in the absence of Vice Chancellor. Prof. Dr. Mansoor Baig is a professor in Punjab University but he also performs the duties of Principal of Punjab University College of Information Technology, Chairman IBIT and Director Sports. Prof. Malik Ehsan is the Director of Institute of Business Administration and Economics Management, DG Gujranwala Campus and Chairman of Budget Committee. Dr. Aamer Ijaz is Director Chemical Engineering, Head of Department of Undergraduate Studies and Principal of School of Physical Sciences. Dr. Rafique is the Principal of College of Engineering, Punjab University, Head of Department of Material and Metallurgy and Director of Students Affairs. Various other professors are doing duties on more than one posts and they do not attend lectures to the students.

When these professors were asked as to why they occupied on various admin posts instead to studying the students. They responded that there is acute shortage of honest and talented persons to run all these offices. If they attended the classes then who would run the affairs of admin nature.
