Punjab Government Ended MCAT and ECAT entry test from 2015

Punjab Government has made the decision to stop taking the entry test of MCAT and ECAT from the students, who want to get admission in the medical and engineering colleges from 2015. Before this the students, who want to get admission in the medical and engineering colleges, they will have to pass through the entry test meant for MCAT and ECAT. The students will have to compulsorily pass these entry tests to get admission in the medical and engineering colleges. The reorganization committee has prepared some of the recommendations for the removal of the entry test and these recommendations will be sent to Chief Minister for their approval.

It is learnt that most of the students had to face problems in attending the entry tests and the committee was formed to study the necessity of the entry tests or otherwise. In this meeting of the reorganization committee, the Vice Chancellor of University of Engineering and Technology, Council of Higher Education Commission, VC of University of Health Sciences Lahore and the head of the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen were present. The committee has presented the recommendations on the removal of the entry tests like MCAT and ECAT and sent to the chief minister of Punjab for its approval.
