Secretary Education Punjab accepts PPLA demands

The meeting between Secretary Higher Education Punjab and Punjab Professors & Lecturers Association on 11 point charter of demand has been succeeded. The government of Pakistan has given the 21st grade to professors for the first time in history. The professors have demanded for promotion on the scales accepted by Secretary Higher Education. The leaders of association demanded that lecturers should be promoted from 17 to 18 scale, Assistant professors from 18 to 19 grade, Associate professors in grade 20 and professors in grade 21. They also demanded the increase in the allowances of principals of all the colleges.
Secretary Higher Education accepted the charter of demand and said that professors will soon be promoted to 21st scale and there will be regular promotions in the 21st scale from future. In all the 550 colleges of Punjab, the 15000 vacant seats of lecturers and professors will be filled this year.
