Separate University for Nurses, Paramedics Approved by KPK

Peshawar, Establishment of a separate University for nurses and paramedical staff has been approved by the KPK government on Friday.

The Health Department sources said that it would a first university of its kind in the country which will initially give education to the professions concerned with nursing and paramedics. The name of the university would be Allied Science University.

The education will be given to the nurses and paramedical staff to the level of B,Sc, M.Sc and PhD disciplines. Khyber Pakhtumkhwa Health Services Academy, Medical faculty and all other nursing colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will come under its jurisdiction. Final summary for the establishment of this University has been submitted to the chief minister for approval.

Education is the key for the quick progress for a country and no country develops if the literacy rate of that country is not accelerated. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa becomes the centre of the leading universities of Pakistan and high caliber military colleges. The literacy rate has increased to 30% during last decade and awareness towards education is also improved. The literacy rate during 2010 is 60%.

The Ghulam Ishaq Khan University, located in Swabi district, is the most fabulous engineering university of Pakistan. There are 13 medical and dental colleges including Ayub Medical and Dental College Abbottabad. Other well reputed educational institutions including University of Engineering and technology (UET), Iqra University and National University of Computer and emerging sciences (NUCES)

there are about 36 vocational and technical institutions in the province. The technical education is the old age apprenticeship knowledge which helps the lower class to earn their living by getting low level job. The technical educational institutions located in the Khyber Pakhtunkwa give sufficient help to the people who could not study for one reason or tow.
