Shah Rukh Khan Awarded by Honorary Degree for Promoting Urdu language

Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan was awarded with an honorary degree of doctorate by India’s Maulana Azad National Urdu University in order to appreciate his services for promotion of Urdu language.

The 6th convocation of Maulana Azad Urdu University was held in the Indian city of Hyderabad in which people from around the world were given doctorate degrees for their services in promoting Urdu language. According to Indian media reports, the university has awarded the honorary doctorate degree to the Bollywood star which is first such degree for the actor by any Indian university.

Shah Rukh Khan participated in the university like ordinary students wearing gown and cap where he was awarded with a degree by university’s VC. Shah Rukh said on that occasion that he is very happy to get this honorary doctorate degree from university located in the home town of his mother for which he is grateful to everyone. He takes this degree as a responsibility to promote Urdu language and education.

It should be cleared that Shah Rukh Khan was given honorary doctorate degree by Edinburgh University of UK last year.
