Sindh University Establishes Medical College

Karachi, In the light of letter of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, Sindh University started the preparation of the establishment of medical college. The care taker vice chancellor of University of Sindh, Dr, Ismail Imdad Ali told to media in the Provincial Higher Education Commission that he has received the letter of PMDC, in which they have given them the time frame of one year for the establishment of their own medical college and teaching hospital. After expiry of one year, the affiliation of the medical colleges will be stopped.

He also told that in the letter of PMDC, there is condition of hospital having 500 beds with the provision of latest and modern tools, which will cost for billion of rupees. However, Governor House has assured for their co-operation to make Rajpootana Hospital and other hospitals, the teaching hospitals of Sindh University. Now there is matter for the construction of the building of medical college for which they have completed the feasibility report. They will make PC One and the construction of the hospital will be started very soon. Dr. Ismail Imdad Ali also said that the condition for the establishment of the medical colleges for the general universities, based on un-justice. There are various medical colleges, which are already affiliated with the general universities and there are various departments like Microbiology, Bio-Chemistry, Physiology and Pharmacy, which are established in the general universities, which are necessary for the medical education. He said that in spite of all these departments, the condition for the establishment of medical college with the teaching hospital is beyond understanding. He further added that he is going to make contact with the VCs of other general universities across the country so that they can adopt the combined strategy.
