Studying in most of the public universities of Germany is totally free but there are some universities that take tuition fees from students. Some of the federal states of Germany have already announced tuition fees for international and national students. According to new rule the amount that students have to pay as tuition fees is around 500 Euros. You can also get more information from Germany’s official websites or from your selected institution or university.

In addition to tuition fees there are many other fees and charges that students have to pay when they are in Germany. So you should think 100 times before selecting any university in Germany for your further education. In most of the public universities you don’t have to pay any type of tuition fees when you are first time student or you hold a degree that includes Bachelor’s and you wish to continue your studies in Master’s programs. 3

In some of the cases the PhD and Doctoral programs are sometimes free of tuition fees but the private universities in Germany do charge tuition fees for all types of their programs that they offer to students. There are many different situations when you need to pay tuition fees in public universities that are

1. When ever you enroll for the second degree program or continue training programs or when you enroll for post graduate degree programs.

2. When ever you choose any sort of English instructed Master’s programs in Germany.

3. When ever you study longer than the standard period of the universities of the Germany.

4. When ever you are an occasional student of the University of Germany.

The cost of the subjects varies according to the subjects so it’s better to talk with the administration department of your selected university but courses in Germany may range from EUR 350 to EUR 1600.
