USAID Donates $4 million for Flood Affected Schools

Islamabad, A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Deputy Mission Director of USAID and Secretary of Education on Tuesday worth $ 4 million for giving financial support to the schools which have been affected badly during flood in various cities of Sindh province.

The Secretary of Education thanked the USAID for the provision of this grant which will be meant for the construction of the building and basic infrastructure of flood affected schools and students belong to poor and lower class will be provided books and stationery. He further added that Sindh Basic Education Program has been started under Executive Committee of National Economic Council which will carry out all the building and construction work in the flood affected schools.

US will make available $155 million from SBEP funds of $ 165 million for the improvement of standard of education in Sindh. The education imparting in these schools will enable the young generation to play vital role in national building.
