WWF Announces Scholarships to 5,000 Students

Islamabad, the Worker Welfare Fund has announced that they are going to award scholarships to about 5,000 students of different levels and classes.
The Worker Welfare Fund is functioning with Accountant General of Pakistan Revenue and it can manage the welfare projects. This fund also made payments to the registered workers on the marriages of their daughters and the heirs of the registered deceased workers. According to the 18th amendment the fund has been transferred to the provinces.
Ministry of Human Resource Development has managed this Worker Welfare Fund and it works independently through a governing body which has representation from all three different ways including government, employers and the workers.
Under the Worker Welfare Fund Ordinance, 1971, this worker welfare fund was established and it executed various other activities including the provision of low cost residential accommodation and other facilities like education and health to the workers who have registration with them.
