AIOU Enrolls 1.25m Students Annually

Islamabad, The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is doing the registration of 1.25 million students every year. It has started model study centers in remote areas of all provinces.

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is the first Open University in Asia of its kind. AIOU is a unique institution in Pakistan having its own philosophy, system, approach, functions and overall structure. AIOU is a Distance Education institution which is busy in giving multi-disciplinary education from basic to doctoral level programs.

The AIOU has got published its full report for the academic yea 2010-11 elaborating the promotion of equal approach of quality education.

This report has also carried the message of President Asif Ali Zardari who is also the chancellor of the university. He expressed his good wishes for the faculty, management and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi for his strenuous efforts to make AIOU an impressive and most advancing institution for giving promotion to equal quality education throughout the country.

The president also assured the university administration that government also continue give financial support to the university to carry out its whole future goals and also extend help to the students to get education through non-formal education system and also give promotion to the education of jobs oriented.

The report also carries out performance report of the Vice Chancellor which gives complete introduction. He discussed about the present and future plans to expand the academic and infrastructural network in every corner of the country

The report also described a separate detail on the functions of working of faculties and departments of the university during the academic year.
