Lahore, Allama Iqbal Open University is the first distant learning university, which has played the pivotal role in spreading quality of education to the students living in far off places of the country. Now AIOU has started the admission process in the MS, MPhil and PhD programs for 2014, which is being conducted till 31 January 2014. The candidates can send their admission forms in the admin department of the AIOU till February 10, 2014 with the fine of Rs.500. the candidates should note the disciplines, in which they can apply for admission:

MS/M.Phil Programs

Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies:

M.Phil in Islamic Studies (General)
M.Phil in Islamic Studies (With specialization in Quran and Tafsee)
M.Phil in Arabic

Faculty of Science:

M.Phil in Chemistry
MS in Community Health and Nutrition (PGD in Nutrition/Dietetics is pre-requisite. AIOU not demand GAT at this stage)

Faculty of social Sciences & Humanities:

M.Phil in Iqbal Studies
M.Phil in Mass Communication

The candidates, who have passed the master degree in the relevant discipline in 2^nd division and they must have passed the GAT test from the NTS (General) with minimum 50% marks, are eligible for admission.

Ph.D Programs (MS/M.Phil Based)

Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies:

Islamic Studies (General)
Islamic Studies (With Specialization in Quran & Tafseer)

Faculty of Sciences:

Chemistry

Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities:

Iqbal Studies
Urdu
Pakistani Languages & Literature

The candidates, who have passed the MS and MPhil in the relevant discipline with 1^st division along with the 3 CGPA and also qualified in the GAT test conducted by the NTS with minimum 50% marks, are eligible to apply for admission.
