When the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was started, it brought new doors for the businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals, it is the best time for the young graduates to beef up their qualification and they can get new opportunities of the jobs after learning the Chinese language.

The Punjab government has started the scholarship program in 2015 to give the education of the Chinese language and meet the requirements of Chinese to Urdu or English or Punjabi translators. The talented individuals got the opportunity to improve their skills and they learn the new language through the fully funded scholarship.

The program makes the plan to send 500 students to China to learn the language under 4^th batch of the program. In the first three batches, there were 345 students, who were awarded with Chinese language scholarships. There are 155 students, who will meet the eligibility criteria and they will get the scholarship awards for the batch IV.

The high achievers of A+ and A graders, they will get the job placement on their return and the students, who wish to continue their studying the language further, they will be offered with extended scholarship for 4 years Chinese Language Degree Program.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicants, who want to apply for the scholarship, they must fulfill the following criteria for the scholarship:

Domicile of any district of Punjab.
Between 22 to 24 years of age.
Minimum 14 years of education from an accredited institution with at least first division in Bachelors.
Applicant needs to medically fit.
Provisionally selected candidates need to complete a short (2-3 weeks) Chinese course at a local institution.
After final selection, applicants will need to secure admission for Chinese Language Studies in any approved Chinese institution for up to two years.

Selection Procedure

The applicants will be selected if they meet the eligibility criteria and requirements, which are deemed necessary for the scholarship program:
If the number of the applicants in increased to the available seats, then their written test will be conducted to shortlist the candidates. The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed to finalize the list.
The candidates, who will qualify in local Chinese language course, they will be offered the final scholarship award.
The candidates, who are working in the government departments, or semi government or autonomous bodies, they need to submit their application forms through proper channels and they will have to provide No Objection Certificate (NOC).
The applicants, who have prior Chinese language ability or the candidates belong to the Southern Punjab, they will be preferred at the time of selection.

How to Apply

The applicants are required to apply online and they can submit their hard copy of their application forms with the provision of relevant documents to the Financial Aid Office and the last date for the submission of the application is 20 June 2017.
