Elimination of Urdu subject for Science Students by HEC

The Higher Education Commission (HEC), after removing Urdu subject from the list of compulsory subjects for the students of Pharmacy and Commerce, now for the science students removed the national language from the list of compulsory subjects, in Karachi.

The National language from the list of compulsory subjects for students of science faculty has been removed by HEC, which was told by an official of HEC who wished not to mention his name. He further added that the Urdu, which was taken as compulsory for graduates, was not in the list of compulsory subjects, in the approved syllabus for students of science faculty, uploaded by HEC.

He maintained that HEC has added some more subjects of English in the list of compulsory subjects, in new syllabus for faculty of science students, from the list, had removed Urdu.

He further told that from the list of compulsory subjects for students of pharmacy and commerce faculties, the Urdu was removed by HEC, before this, by claiming that for the students of pharmacy and commerce graduates, Urdu does not matter.
