HEC Conducts First Aptitude Test for Admission in Undergraduate Programs

Islamabad, Higher Education Commission has started the conducting of the first aptitude test for grant of admission to the students in the undergraduate programs of the universities. HEC sought the support of the educational institutes for the successful launch of the entry test. HEC has informed the vice chancellors, deans, heads of the government and private universities to inform that they seek their confirmation on the permission of HEC-backed ‘Education Testing Council’ to organize the aptitude test during the fall semester of 2017.

The aptitude test of the candidates is free of cost for the aspirants and it will organize the admission test in 5 disciplines and the registration procedure will be done online. During the inauguration ceremony of ETC, the concerned authority will launch the tests for grant of admission to undergraduate programs from fall 2017 at first in the 5 big categories like engineering, medical, management sciences, social sciences, arts, humanities and basic and natural sciences.

ETC will conduct the aptitude test in five big cities of the country in the most transparent and fair environment and the registration procedure will be done online and the students can select the test center. HEC asked for support of educational institutes with the ETC and adopt the testing service.HEC asked the universities to recommend their focal person and also provide the infrastructure facilities in the educational institutes. The higher education commission will take the admission test fee from the government and give the funds to the universities to conduct the free of cost tests. The National Testing Service showed its concern over establishment of ETC and declared that it is against the command of the HEC.
