Matric Part 1 Age Restrictions

Lahore, Lahore High Court has given the verdict that the age restriction from the educational board matric class part 1 illegal. The bench of the honorable court observed the strategy of age restriction and declared the getting education is the basic right of every resident under article 25A of Constitution and the fundamental rights were higher.

The Lahore high court bench was consisted of Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza and Justice Muzammal Akhtar Shabbir maintained the policy of age restriction of 12 years, which is mentioned in rule 1A of calendar under Punjab Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act 1975 as illegal. Various applicants moved their applications and they said that equal education is major right under Article 25 of constitution and the educational board made the rules that the students under age 12 year were not declared eligible to get admission in the SSC class part 1. The counsel of the applicants said that the strategy of the board of intermediate and secondary education is the violation of article 25A of the constitution.

The counsel further added that in the exams of Q and A level, there was no policy of age restriction and this restriction was unfair and defilement of the constitution.
