PM’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme to IUB students

Total 7500 students of Islamia University Bahawalpur will be benefited from the Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme for underdeveloped areas. IUB is approved by HEC and considered as one of the best among institutes of Southern Punjab.

The purpose of this scheme is to help the talented students of underdeveloped areas to get admission in higher classes of Masters, M.Phil and PhD programs. The educational expenses of such students will be paid under this scheme.

The list of nominated male and female students, made on merit, has been sent to PM office by IUB for this purpose. The respective students will receive cheques and awards from PM Nawaz Sharif. At the end of this month, a special ceremony will be held in this respect.

The foundation of Islamia University Bahawalpur was laid in 1925 when Jamia Abbasia was established in Bahawalpur region. This institute produced numerous scholars who spread true teachings of Islam in the subcontinent. The name of Jamia Abbasia was changed to Islamia University Bahawalpur in 1975 and it was declared as a General University of Bahawalpur. In the beginning, the University has 10 departments operating in two campuses of Khawaja Fareed and Abbasia campus. Now the university has 45 campuses that offer education in 74 disciplines of education.
