The Pakistan telecommunication company limited has signed an agreement with the Khyber pakhtunkhwa’s ministry of science, technology and IT for installing a state of art managed wifi solution along with high speed internet at the universities of Peshawar and 25 colleges across the province.

The agreement was signed by M. Suleman Awan, General Manager, Digital Services, PTCL and Syed Ishtiaq Hussain, Chief Planning Officer, Department of ST&IT, Government of KP.

He also said that the KP government is focusing in using technology for providing different services to the people of the province. He said that he has trust and confidence in PTCL, they also seems like a reliable partner for the KP government in their public welfare initiatives.

The KP government and the PTCL both are leading the systematical transformation in education by the addition of modern technology and IT based infrastructure in the schools, colleges and universities all across the province.

As a result, this technology will help the students and the faculty of the higher education to get quick access to PTCL broad band internet over wifi. This will help both the students and faculty to carry out their researches and to find digital contents related to their studies.

On this occasion the chief digital services officer Adil Rashid said,

That we are delighted to extend our partnership with department of science, technology and IT, KP for extending ICT services in the whole province. The steps taken by the KP government will help transforming the key sectors such as health, education and information technology. The PTCL will remain committed in improving the lifestyle of the people by providing them with PTCL diversified and new products and digital services.

He also showed his interest in joining hands with the KP government in the rest of the ICT initiatives.
