Soft Drinks Ban in Educational Institutes

 

Punjab Food Authority decided to put ban on the sales of all types of the soft drinks at the educational institutes all over the Punjab from 14th August. The details show that the authority has banned the sales of the soft drinks  and they also barred the manufacturers from the supply of the soft drink to the shopkeepers, canteen and drink corners, which are located within 100 m of the educational institutes.

The PFA Director General strictly advised to impose the ban on manufacturers and suppliers, who do not obey the orders of ban. There are over 120 countries, which have imposed ban on the soft drink as they considered harmful and leaves adverse effects on the health of the children. The soft drinks also damage the health of the children. In the advanced countries like US, UK and Saudi Arabia, the soft drink is already banned since 2006.

Punjab Educational Societies Food Standard Regulation 2017

The PFA scientific panel has formulated the regulation, which is called Punjab Educational Societies Food Standard Regulation 2017 and labeled the school supplies under the red, yellow and green categories. PFA labs have done the detailed analysis and consulted with the scientists all over the world and they declared that soft drinks are added to the red level. The experts said that the ban should be compulsory all over the world.

PFA director general add that the board supported the comprehensive operation all over the province to create the special operation teams for their effective implementation of the restriction.
