Special Education Centres for Bahawalpur

The provincial Government has allocated Rs. 87 million to establish two educational facilities in Bahawalpur Division for students requiring special needs in order to provide modern education to them.

It was told by Iqbal Channar, Punjab Cooperatives Minister, on Tuesday at his camp office while he was talking to a delegation of special children.

He told that special funds of Rs. 87.7 million have been allocated by the Punjab CM for construction of two new educational facilities that will expand the educational infrastructure.

For this purpose, the work is underway for special education college in Rahim Yar Khan and special education center in Bahawalpur. The minister told that Punjab govt. is trying to establish special education centers in all the 36 districts of Punjab at district and tehsil level.

He added that primary special education centers and middle level institutes will be upgraded to middle level and secondary level respectively.

The provincial government will also provide free books, accommodation and transportation facilities along with a stipend of Rs. 800 to every special child.
