When student apply for students applicant visa than they need these types of documents to get the applicant visa from the embassy of Germany that are

You need to have a valid passport which should have three months limit of expiry.
You should have two passport size photographs with you.
You should have certificate of admission which you got from the higher education of the Germany.

You also need some other documents with these that are

You should have a previous studies proof.
You should have a proof of German language skills or your attended plan to attend language course for at least 20 hours per week.
You should have a proof of sufficient funds that will show that you have enough money to support your studies in Germany.

For both of these under mentioned conditions you it is must that you must supply evidence that you have sufficient funds to support your education in Germany. There are some other things that you should have to show that are

You should finance yourself for your German education OR
You should have one or more persons in your country that will assume all the costs of your study.

In the student visa you have to show family letter of your German family if you want to live in Germany with them for duration of your education when you are holder of scholarship or want to be for postgraduate courses. In this condition you should be able to support yourself and also your family and should have sufficient accommodation for your family.
