Top 350 Universities in Times Asia Rankings


Times Higher Education announced the Asia University Rankings for 2018 and ten Pakistani Universities managed to get their place in the list of the top 350 universities due to their performance.

Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad is leading the way as it is present at the 79th rank, which is the marked improvement from last year. This university was present at 121-130 band and COMSATS has improved the rank from 141-150 band to the new and improved rank of 125. The two universities have improved their ratings primarily because of the citation impact and due to their research, teaching standards and the international outlook.

Times Higher Education has enhanced the number of the educational institutes and universities from 300 to 350 and three other Pakistani universities are included in this list of the top Pakistan universities in Asia rankings. The three newly included universities are University of Peshawar, PMAS Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi and University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore and they are ranked in the list and make the tally reach to 10 up from 7 last year.

Remarks of Editorial Director

The Editorial Director of THE, has praised the efforts of the Pakistani universities to compete with the regional universities and they have shown the marked improvement in their overall performance in teaching, research and general outlook to the international students.

The increase of the Pakistani universities in the list has shown the fantastic achievement and the leading Pakistani universities have improvement their ranks comparing the last year rankings. The poor research environment in the country is due to the lack of funding and it barred the nation to meet the higher education potential.
