$10 Million Donation to Malala Fund

Paris, President of Pakistan, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari has announced that government of Pakistan will give a handsome amount of $10 million in the ‘Malala Fund’ which has been set up for the promotion of girls education by 2015 in Pakistan and various other countries of the world. The main objective for the establishment of this fund entitled with “Malala Fund for Girls’ right to Education” through which the receipt of billion dollars for the girls education.

Malala Yousaafzai is a Pakistani girl who lives in Swat and was shot by the Taliban on October 9 when she was coming back from her school in her school van with other girl companion when some unknown militants opened the fire on her and her friends. She received serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital from where she was shifted to the Peshawar and then Rawalpindi where her neurosurgery was carried out and bullets were removed from her head and body. Now she is admitted in the Queens Marry Hospital London where she is improving her health day by day.

Pakistani government signed an agreement with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization which was headed by Irina Bokova.

French Prime Minister Jean Marc Ayrault, ex British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, former presidents of Chile and Finland and UN Special Envoy for Global Education were also present in this ceremony.

The video tapped messages of UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki Moon, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, EU top diplomat Catherine Ashton were sent for the support of this unique fund for the promotion of girls’ education throughout the world.

Father of Malala Yousafzai, Mr. Zia uddin Yousafzai who is also a former teacher and headmaster has been appointed for the help of ‘Malala plan’ for spreading education for the girls around the world by the end of 2015.

Mr. Gordon Brown suggested that the birthday of Malala Yousafzai which is July 12 is celebrated as the day for action each year demonstrating the need of the education of the girls in the presently changing scenario of the world. The United Nations presented the figures according to which about 61 million children do not go to schools and the number of girls is two-third of this total number.

The top EU diplomat Mr. Ashton suggested that this year noble prize which is estimated to 930,000 euro ($1.2 million) prize money will be given to the children who have been suffered from the war for the help and education.
