Lahore, Lahore College for Women University has accorded approval for the establishment of City and Regional Planning Department with the coordination of International Society of City and Regional Planners, Netherlands. The main objective of the establishment of this department is, to provide good quality of education and skills to the women living in rural or urban areas to become educated and useful citizen of Pakistan and contribute in the progress of the country.
This will be the first department in Asia which has been set up for ladies to level the gender awareness and make our half population skillful and educated.
Associate Professor Dr. M Atiq ur Rehman has been appointed as Head of CRP department who held first meeting of BOS in which they accorded approval for the study scheme and admission criteria for various disciplines of BS, MS and PhD programs. This department will play pivotal role in the community empowerment, Environmental Management, remote sensing, Social Engineering and Housing and Urban Development.
