Agreements between AIOU and Chinese Universities for Educational Development

Islamabad, Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad has made different agreements with the Chinese universities for the development of education and to made strong initiatives with them. Vice Chancellor of AIOU, Prof Dr Ali Asghar Chishti toured two Chinese universities including Yunan Open University and University of China for the four days tour on their special invitation, where he signed to separate memorandum of understandings. Assistant Prof. Zahid Majeed of Open University was also on the tour to China with the Vice Chancellor. It is decided that ‘Chinese Language Teaching Center’ will be established with the collaboration of University of China in the Allama Iqbal Open University. The president of Yunan Open University, Ex Yuban said that China is the neighboring country of Pakistan and both the countries enjoy strong relationships. China gives special reference to the relationships with Pakistan. He also said that they had the strong relationships and with this agreement, the copperation for education will be built up. He said that they need necessary technical and faculty support in their Chinese language center. He further added that Prime Minister of Pakistan gave special instruction to develop the relationships with China in the field of education. We are giving special attention for the development of education and are making the collaboration with the high standard Chinese educational institutes. Dr. Chishti came back to the country and he said that Chinese government as well as the expert educationists wanted to have strong relationships with Pakistan and both of the countries want to take advantage of the experiences and skills of their experts.
