AIOU Intends Promotion of Basic Education

Islamabad, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad, Prof Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi has said that AIOU is engaged in providing basic education to all norms of society living in every nook and corner of the country through their distant learning system. While he was addressing a two day international conference on the topic of basic education, which was held in the famous city of China, Chengdu, he said that AIOU is striving hard to provide educational facilities to all classes of the society under their comprehensive policy.
According to him, special attention is being given on the quality of education, special training of teachers and also established IC infrastructure for providing vocational and socio- economic syllabus. Efforts are undertaken for providing of basic education to the students living in far flung areas of the country by adopting different kind of methods. The other participants of the conference were former President of Philippines Fidal Ramos, former Prime Minister of Nepal Bista, Sri Lankan Education Minister and Secretary of Planning Commission of India.
The basic education international declaration has also attended by Pakistan. The government has also gave constitutional rights and political commitment for providing free education to the students who cannot get even basic education. the distant learning system of Allama Iqbal Open University will help in minimizing the illiteracy rate in the country.
