The Chinese student visa is divided in to X visa and F visa that are issued to students that come to china to pursue their studies in many different fields of education. Usually X Visa is a visa which is issued to all the aliens that come to China to the purpose of study, fieldwork or for advanced studies which has more than 06 months duration. The F Visa is actually a visa which is issued to all those aliens that come to china with some purpose which has less than 06 months period. It is must that the organization must be accredited to offer internships and courses to all type of foreigner who wishes to study in China. These organizations will also send you JW201 or JW202 form with an admission letter that is required to submit with your application form.

Actually you are not permitted to work on this visa type with out getting any type of permission from your institute. After you settlement in China you can apply for work permit after contacting your university or employer. Actually the X Visa is only for 30 days duration period from the date of your arrival. After that you and your university or employer will seek temporary resident permit for the complete duration of your study programs. The X Visa which is provided to student is actually to seek multiple semester study in China. Usually students enroll in two semesters in the schools and universities of China and will only receive F Visa which is provided for multiple entries to china which is also valid for the term of the student’s study programs.

X Visa of China requires students to undergo residence formalities after their arrival in China. The one and only way to receive study visa is to legally register with the school or university of China that is having the legal ability to host all type of foreign students. All those students who are studying in China on X Visas are not allowed to work in China because the Chinese government has very strict regulation about their study programs. All those students that are caught working in China are deported or steep to fines.
