Commonwealth-AIOU Work Together to Promote Education Online

Allama Iqbal Open University is going to enhance the education standard in the country and it is going to make the collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning. Both the departments will make the national policy on the open distance learning for the promotion of the online education across the country.

The President of Commonwealth of Learning Col Prof Asha Kanwar said that they met with the delegation of the university during the 29th Asian Association of Open University, which was conducted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this week.

According to the message, she said that she would meet with the delegation of Allama Iqbal Open University to promote their mutual cooperation and she encouraged the delegation with their efforts, which they are making in promoting education. She also said that the Vice Chancellor of the University for making considered progress in the academic ranking and improve the quality of education.

Dr Zahid majid, the spokesperson of the university was also there in the Executive board and the meetings of the general body of Allama Iqbal Open University and he also gave the guarantee for the provision of support to get the academic aims.

AIOU and COL agreed to support each other and work for the promotion of the Open Education and also start the massive online open courses. The representatives gave their willingness over this system and on the start of the steering committee of massive online open courses to work in a group in different fields.

The delegation of the AIOU Pakistan did some sideline meeting with the Vice Chancellor, Terbuka University Indonesia and they agreed to work with each other for development of Quality Assurance Framework for the Allama Iqbal Open University.

The Vice Chancellor of the AIOU also visited the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur shared the initiatives of the academic department of the AIOU to promote the special education and also set up the accessibility center for the students of weekend to use the main library.
