Faisalabad, The number of girl students in medical colleges became double than the boy students. Lady Doctors completed their medical education and they do not do the house jobs so the number of lady doctors who do the house jobs remains 30 percent. Lady Doctors prefer to do their duties in big hospitals and they do not go the tehsil hospital and rural health centers. The seats in almost all the tehsil and rural hospitals and health centers remain vacant as no doctor is ready to go there.
According to a report, at this time about 1550 students are doing their MBBS in Punjab Medical College Faisalabad in which 500 are boys and 1050 are girls. 10 percent lady doctors do not complete their house job and they sit in their homes and there are about 30 percent lady doctors who perform their duties after completing their house jobs and remaining leave this profession. The lady doctors who join the teaching cadre are only 5 to 6 percent.
According to the sources of Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, government spends 6 million on the education of one doctor and if the doctors do not perform their duties and do not join any job then this money goes waste. When a large number of female doctors get admission in the medical colleges then a large number of boys remain deprive of the admission which resulted into the shortage of the doctors especially in the rural areas. Most of the rural health centers are running without any doctor because every year the number of young doctor completed their education, they set in the big hospitals of the city.
