Girl Students Protest against Disruption of Merit in Medical Colleges

Mirpur, A large number of female students who are deprived of admissions on the medical colleges of the country, protested against the disruption of the merit in front of Kashmir Press Club Mirpur. The students raised slogans against the authorities of the medical colleges.

Secretary General of Medical College Action Committee Dr Riaz Ahmed and the parents of the students were also present in the rally. The students demanded that they should be given admission on open merit and abolish the merit system which deprives the eligible students for getting admission in the medical colleges. They also announced that they are going to lodge a suit against the activities of the authorities of the medical colleges.

Surgeon Dr Javed and the parents of the students claimed that their children got above than 80% marks but they were not given admission in the medical college and on the other side the children of the refugees have been granted admission instead of their daughters. The government and the politicians are interrupting in the educational institutes and they were the main cause of the disruption of the merit in the medical colleges of the province.
