Govt Sadiq Degree College for Girls Promoted to University

Bahawalpur, Punjab government has upgraded the Government Sadiq Degree Girls College Bahawalpur to the Women University in the area. The notification to this effect has been issued and Vice Chancellor of Islamic University Bahawalpur, Prof Dr Muhammad Mukhtar has been appointed as first Vice Chancellor of Women University Bahawalpur.

After getting up gradation, Government Sadiq Degree Girls College will be called Government Sadiq College Women University. A ceremony to this effect was conducted in which Commissioner, Bahawalpur division, Captain (retired) Asad Ullah Khan said that initiatives will be taken for the provision of land for the construction of a separate campus for the Women University Bahawalpur. The first Vice Chancellor of the Women University, Prof Dr Muhammad Mukhtar said that he would try his best to bring revolution in the higher studies being imparted in this University. He said that he has the unique honour of Vice Chancellor of two Universities at a time and it is a challenge for him to raise the standard of education in the University. He further added that new rules and regulations and syndicate will be formulated to carry out the administration nature work in the University. With the up gradation of the University, there are about three thousands vacancies have been created at different levels. The DCO Dr Naeem Rauf has said that with the establishment of Women University, the girl students can get the higher education conveniently.
