From the 2025 academic year, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will introduce a revamped set of textbooks for grades 1 to 5 in Islamabad schools. These books, developed under the supervision of the Federal Secretary for Education, align with the National Curriculum of Pakistan and aim to bring innovative learning methods to young students.
Features of the Updated Textbooks
The revised textbooks focus on story-driven content, interactive classroom tasks, and teaching techniques designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. To enhance accessibility, each book includes QR codes, enabling students and teachers to access digital versions alongside traditional printed copies.
Emphasis on Inclusivity and Digital Integration
The updated curriculum reflects Pakistan’s cultural values while prioritizing inclusivity. As part of this digital shift, ICT labs and Chromebooks in schools will be equipped with preloaded digital copies of the textbooks, ensuring all students have equal access to high-quality educational resources.
Encouraging Effective Learning
The FDE has encouraged teachers to leverage both digital tools and physical books to create engaging classroom experiences, ultimately aiming to enhance learning outcomes for primary students.
