Ist National Train the Trainer Program for College Teachers Concludes at UoP

The first ever national train the trainer program for Associated Degree in Education for college teachers concludes at University of Peshawar. The four day event jointly organized by Institute of Education and Research and Pre Service Teacher Education was participated by forty college teachers from around Pakistan.

The chief guest of the closing ceremony was Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Azmat Hayat Khan. Addressing the teachers he appreciated the initiative by Pre Step in first assisting the University in starting four years B. Ed (Hons) program and then extending the two years Associated Degree in Education at various colleges in the province.

Dr. Khan described professional teaching qualification as a key towards producing best teachers. He said that teachers have an integral role in shaping behavior of students that is why they are respected the most in our society. University of Peshawar plans to establish a teaching training academy in near future in order to streamline, imparting quality education to the students, The Vice Chancellor added.

Director Institute of Education and Research Prof. Dr. Arbab Khan Afridi said that, with the help of Pre Step curriculum for both the degree courses has been finalized. He added that Both the degrees are fresh and there were nothing for it in the service rule, so we have taken this issue with the authorities concerned and they have graciously consented to develop service rules for the graduating B. Ed (Hons) and ADE pass outs. Currently seven colleges have been given affiliation in the ADE program, he concluded.
