Lahore School of Economics

The Lahore School of Economics was established in 1993 and chartered by the Government of Punjab in January 1997, through The Lahore School of Economics Act 1997 (Provincial Assembly of the Punjab – Act II of 1997). It is based in the city of Lahore, Pakistan.

The Lahore School of Economics has two campuses: the Main campus and the City campus. The Main campus, spread over 35 acres (140,000 m²), is located on the intersection of DHA Phase VI, Main Boulevard and Burki Road. The City campus is located in Gulberg near the central Liberty Market area.

The Lahore School is ranked 5th best Pakistani university for a business education according to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.  It is an internationally recognized Pakistani institute.

The Lahore School’s Research Centre, known as CAREB, takes part in national and international levels of research. CAREB is closely associated with various governmental and non-governmental research wings and think tanks. The university also conducts a student exchange program with Bahcesehir UniversityTurkey, London school of economics and with other top institutes of the world for existing students, faculty and alumni.

Campus life and student run societies

The Lahore School’s Main campus hosts a variety of facilities to cater to the student body. The campus is equipped with two libraries and five computer labs. The university also houses a basketball court, a cricket ground and a football field. The university’s media centre houses a computer lab, equipped with Apple Macs. The school has a number of societies including dramatics, adventure and a debating society. The debating society is one of the best in the city. The campus houses a girls hostel and mess as well. Two cafeterias and three smaller canteen are on campus with a variety of food and beverages.
