National Centre for Resettlement and Rehabilitation Set up in PU

Lahore, Punjab University is going to set up the National Center for Resettlement and Rehabilitation. This center is being established in the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies with the cooperation of World Bank. The main objective for the establishment of this center is to conduct the academic research, arrange training programs and it will also deliver the policy guidelines for the relocation and restoration of challenges which are being faced in the involuntary displacements by the development in the country.
For the establishment of National Center for Resettlement and Rehabilitation, a delegation of World Bank consisting of members including Development Specialist Mr Chaohua Zhang, Dean Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences and Director of ISCS Prof Dr Muhammad Zakriya Zakar, the specialist of NESPAK Environment and Resettlement Mr Irfan ul Haq and various other faculty members of ICSC held a meeting with the Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran in his office. The VC thanked the delegation for the establishment of the National Center for Resettlement and Rehabilitation and he also said that the University is working as an academic institution and play the role for handling the development needs and challenges of the Pakistani society.
