Chinese secondary education system is actually for all those students that are of age 12 to 17 and the education system of this kind is run by the local governments and also by various business authorities. In the secondary schools that are state run includes junior middle schools and also senior middle schools and are run with three grades or years. Actually the first three years of the secondary schools which are also known as middle schools in China are the compulsory years so there are no tuition fees.

The senior middle schools of China are not the compulsory schools and students must have to pay minimum tuition fees. The private secondary schools of China offer specialized type of education and the qualifications and the programs which are offered by them are always considered on the same level as those of middle schools that are state run schools. On the other hand all the graduates that is from the secondary professional school systems always achieved higher levels in many ways to the university education. All those students that graduate from junior middle schools usually go on to the senior middle schools but some of them move towards the vocational high schools and some move towards the secondary professional schools to have 3 to 5 years more study.
